Overview

The International Baccalaureate (IB), in collaboration with the Lebanon Association of IB World Schools, will host the first IB Day Lebanon 2025, a one-day, face-to-face professional learning symposium dedicated to the theme “Mindful Learning for Tomorrow”. This inspiring event will bring together over 600 educators, school leaders, and IB practitioners from more than 50 private and public schools across Lebanon to explore forward-thinking, inclusive, and impactful approaches to learning and teaching across the country and beyond
It also symbolizes a renewed commitment to educational excellence and community building, setting the stage for deeper collaboration. This event is a celebration of lifelong learning, collaborative growth, and the democratization of learning. It fosters dialogue between educators from diverse school contexts, reinforcing a shared commitment to equity in education and access to quality professional development, values that align closely with the missions of the IB and that of the Hariri Foundation.

About the Theme

In a time marked by complexity and change, “Mindful Learning for Tomorrow” calls educators to rethink how learning experiences can be intentional, balanced, inclusive, and future-focused. The theme highlights the need to nurture curiosity, reflection, and resilience, while preparing learners to thrive ethically and sustainably in a globalized world. It also reinforces the importance of educator well-being and adaptability as the future of education depends on how mindfully we support both learners and teachers.

Strands and Importance

Participants can engage in over 70 interactive workshops facilitated by experienced IB educators, IB Educator Network (IBEN) members, and school leaders. Organized into six thematic strands, these sessions address current educational priorities and local needs. Each strand is crafted to inspire lifelong learning, foster reflective teaching, and empower educators as change-makers within their communities.

  • Student Agency & Voice
  • Mindfulness & Well-being
  • Purposeful Assessment
  • Inclusive Innovation
  • Sustainability & Global Citizenship
  • Transformational Leadership
